The Team
Founded in 1983 by owner Michael Yangoyan, Dee Why Smash Repairs has remained focused on providing quality work using cutting edge technology.
Michael Yangoyan
Owner and Founder Michael started Dee Why Smash Repairs in August 1983 with a strong passion for the car industry. This began young, being a typical boy growing up obsessed with working on cars.
He has created this family business from scratch with his son Jason now joining him on the workshop floor.
What was your first car?
My first car was a 1963 Ford Falcon. Someone was going to wreck it so I took it, sanded it back, sprayed it and got it up and running.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up on the Lower North Shore in Sydney.
Jason Yangoyan
Jason joined Dee Why Smash Repairs in 2003, following his father in the business. He is well rounded and passionate panel beater and spray painter and enjoys the challenge of taking a vehicle back to new.
What was your first car?
My first car was a baby blue VN 1990 Commodore.
John Contarino
John has been with Dee Why Smash Repairs since 2013, returning to crash repairs after a short stint in the building industry.
We love John for his can-do attitude with no job being too big, small, tricky or complex.
What was your first car?
It was a 1975 Holden Gemini in gun metal grey.
